Here’s a quick shout about Nicholson flat files.
I buy two new files at the beginning of the year at a total cost of about $15. The larger file has a course and a fine side so I’m essentially getting three files. The cost for equivalent Grobet files that I used to buy, would be about $80. The only difference that I can tell between them is that the Nicholsons are sharper most of the time because I replace them more frequently .
Before using the files I like to round off and smooth the tip and at least one edge, to help prevent accidental cuts where I dont want them.
