2 Check the bass bar position:
Ideally the bass bar is located about 1mm inside the bridge foot. If it is slightly off, the position chosen for the new bridge may be reconsidered. If it is way off a new bass bar may be considered.

The gauge being used here is shaped like an upside down "F" and it shows where the bass bar is relative to the ideal bridge position.
