The hand of the master! Such lines! Such elegance! Well OK, wear has obliterated most of the original shape here. The purfling with thin black lines is typical. I think that the locating pin bisected by the purfling is not so common for Del Gesu, who typically used a larger diameter locating pin than Strad and set the pin well within the purfling line.
